I finally, finally, finally got my hands on the Fenty soft matte long wear foundation!! It only took the persuasion of me having absolutely no nice foundation to wear to college and washing the pots for a week for my mum to finally give in and buy me the foundation.
We actually went into Selfridges in the Trafford centre in the search for a good, glowy foundation with nothing really in mind. I asked the lady at the Illamasqua counter if she knew of any good ones and she recommended the ‘Born to Glow’ foundation from NYX even though they didn’t even sell it in Selfridges she told us to check the Boots store nearby. When we went over, the first counter near the entrance was of course the latest brand to arrive at Boots – it was Fenty Beauty.
After putting the whole ‘glowy foundation’ need on hold I just had to get a new Fenty foundation and I don’t regret it one bit.
Is it really worth the hype? Or is the internet just THAT obsessed with Rihanna that we are willing to never say a bad thing about her? After using it for a whole week, I have to say it met all my expectations and also made me want to buy every other Fenty product. Soooo… I guess you could say it is worth the hype.
My foundation is in the shade ‘150’ and I honestly couldn’t ask for a better match. Although this is props to the lady who served me at the Fenty counter, if you can’t find your perfect shade with Fenty then I will be SHOCKED. With 50 shades, I guarantee you that Fenty is bound to have your perfect shade, but I will get into that in an upcoming post all about Fenty – so stay tuned for that.
The price is £27 which is the average for a high end foundation and to be honest I know I’ve only been using it for a week but I know that when I run out I’m definitely gonna be re-buying. I prefer it over my M.A.C foundation and my L’Oreal foundation and that’s saying something.
I wear it for college which is from 8am until 6pm without topping up and it stays on and still looks as perfect as it did at 8am this morning by the end of the day. It gives your skin a smooth, shine free finish and I love it. It is said to be buildable from medium to full coverage but let’s be real I hardly ever go to parties, my makeup nearly always stays natural. It has an oil free formula which is made to be sweat proof which i don’t know about you but I’ve never heard of a foundation promising to be THIS good and keeping to its word.
A bit that kinda almost put me off buying the foundation was the fact that it’s a matte formula. But I am so glad I didn’t get put off by that because well you guys already know from the title that it’s now my favorite foundation. It’s easily blend-able, it looks flawless all day, the amount of people who actually noticed that I switched my foundation up and said I look more radiant was actually crazy BTW.
Alsooooo this foundation is 100% cruelty free!! So in other words there is no excuse now not to try it.
Thank you for reading, if you have any further questions about the foundation/brand or any other beauty recommendations be sure to let me know in the comments!! Hope you all have a great week.
