That heartache you get when you hit pan on your favorite bronzer that costs £25 but you currently have £1.40 to your name and already owe about 4 different people for them shop runs at lunch time that you didn’t think would suddenly add up to £200 after a month of getting a bottle of 7up everyday, no? Just me? Anyways.. This post is going to include products that have unfortunately popped their clogs after a lifetime of being applied to my face and being a part of my everyday life.
I really did love each and everyone of these items and I really wish they could never possibly come to an end so I wouldn’t have to be another £25 in debt with myself. But I can guarantee that some point in my lifetime (probably the next time I get EMA) I will be repurchasing these but until then they’ll just have to sit empty on my shelf until I give in to the temptation.
Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer
So when this was full and usable I loved it. I have a mini version of it that I got in a set and I still wear it all the time, but I am soon going to have to venture out and buy a new one before that one runs out too. I always enjoy wearing this bronzer as it gives that sunkissed look and with the right highlighter it can look poppin’. Benefit is one of my go to brands as they always exceed my expectations, so overall for the quality, amount and pigmentation it is overall worth the £26.
Benefit’s Hello Flawless Powder
I normally never wear powder, it’s not that I don’t like it I just see no difference when I wear it to when I don’t so I normally skip that step. I liked this powder a lot but since I hardly wear it I doubt I’m going to be repurchasing. Maybe once I’ve learnt what powder actually does then maybe I’ll try this one again but for now I’d rather a cheaper one in my collection that’s there just in case of a ‘powder emergency’ as I’m sure we all get one of those…? The brutal reason why I feel as though I ran out of this product so quickly is because there was hardly any. Especially compared to the Hoola bronzer. So maybe right now I’ll continue without but if I do ever being to miss it or feel my face needs it I will be sure to update you guys.
Nars ‘Sex Appeal’ Blush
When blusher was my obsession, this was my number 1 go to. It’s subtle but adds a healthy look to your skin. I remember buying it for my mum but she never ended up liking it as much as I did so I guess it’s not for everybody’s skin tone. Now, I prefer using darker blushes but I still do sometimes scrape the edges of this to get a more summery look. Are there better blushes I’ve tried? Of course. But.. each blush is used for a different type of look right? And I guess a summery blush one just isn’t mine.
Rimmel London Natural Bronzer
This is a product I’ve used ever since I first became interested in makeup. It’s the perfect drug store bronzer that I repurchase over and over again. It has that natural sun kissed effect that instead of looking like you’ve just stepped out of a tanning salon, looks like you’ve just got back from Mexico. Another plus to this is that it’s waterproof. I haven’t actually tested this out but I guess I can agree that I’ve worn it out in the rain before and it hasn’t moved a bit. It’s a drugstore product too so very affordable and it definitely meets a drugstore brand expectations.
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
Moving away from powdery products now, this Nars concealer is a STAPLE in my collection. It’s one of those concealers that make you look good with no foundation, can blend well with foundation, makes you look radiant, can conceal any type of bags under your eyes and can be good to hide spots – so in other words – perfection. It’s a Nars product so you automatically know it’s going to be a tad pricey but I’ve never ever had a concealer this good before so I would say that it is definitely worth it. The Rimmel London concealer below can work as a cheaper alternative but still doesn’t come close to being as good as the Nars Radiant Creamy concealer. Nothing can beat it.
Rimmel London Wake Me Up concealer
This is one of the best drugstore concealers I’ve tried – still not as good as the Nars one, but if someone were to ask me to recommend one from the drugstore it’d be this one or the LA Girl Pro one. They both work the exact same and have the same texture and feel to it. This concealer is full coverage and brightens your skin, but it isn’t the most long lasting. So how you look in the morning when you’ve first done your makeup is most likely going to be different when you get home from work at 6pm which is why I would recommend spending that little bit more on the Nars one.
No 7 Beautifully Matte Foundation
This actually started off belonging to my grandma, but she didn’t like it so gave it me to try and I ended up loving it. It was one of those foundations that a few of my friends had and it looked great on them but I already had my holy grail foundation at the time so never brought myself round to buying it. Once I first tried it though, I knew it was going to now be my go-to. Now I always switch up on foundations depending on the look I’m doing and what I’m doing that day but this is my favorite for a natural everyday look. It has really good coverage, blends well and is long lasting, I would totally recommend.
Laura Mercier Eyeliner
Okay this might be a product I stole from my mum but I don’t regret it. It’s everything you want an eyeliner to do and I’m sooooo annoyed it had the audacity to run out. But it shows how much I love it as I have so many different types of eyeliners and this was always my go-to. Again it’s slightly pricey but I guarantee you it stays on for as long as you let it. Literally I feel like if I didn’t wash my face for a month it’d still be there like a tattoo.
Paco Rabanne Olympea
This perfume is the first high-end expensive one I’ve ever bought. I remember it was from the airport on our way back from Gran Canaria with 2 of my best friends. The scent is floral and has a hint of vanilla to it. I have the largest bottle it comes in and it lasts forever! It’s one of those scents that make you feel elegant and strong and if you like floral scents I would recommend giving this one a try.
I don’t finish beauty products very often or even hit pan on them so this won’t be able to be a monthly type of post but after collecting a few items I’ve finished I will be sure to do another empties post in the future.
